L is for London

End of week two of the A to Z Challenge and the letter is L. And L just happens to be the first letter of a place I long to visit: London.

I have no idea if reincarnation is real, but if it is, then in a former life I hailed from London, because it is the only place in the world I feel I must visit before I die. Australia, Hawaii, Costa Rica, Thailand…if I never visit any of these places, I will pass without regret. But London…to London I must go.

Is there some place you feel in your bones you’re meant to visit? Please share in the comments!

‘Tis expectation makes a blessing dear; heaven were not heaven if we knew what it were.

Top on my list, too, deb. Well, all of Great Britain actually, with a definite emphasis on London. The specific places are pretty standard for an English Literature lover, I guess: Drumcliffe churchyard in County Sligo, Ireland, where W. B. Yeats was laid to rest; Oxford for the so-numerous great poets and novelists and the scenery of Inspectors Morse and Lewis fame; Cornwall for its scenery and so- romantic history; Stratford-upon-Avon(Shakespeare of course); Wordsworth's Lake District etc, etc. And in London, along with the places you mentioned, I'd have on my list : The British Museum; The National Gallery; St Paul's Cathedral where one can find the tombs of Winston Churchill and Florence Nightingale among the many, many notables; the, the….I could go on forever. Thanks for allowing me one of my favourite daydreams! I've been enjoying your daily AtoZ entries.

  2. Hi Jo,

I imagine any city can be lonely or exciting; for the tourist, I imagine it's exciting. At least I hope so! 😉

I'll have to pop by and see what you shared about London.

    See you shortly.

Funny I wrote about London for L. I lived there for 4 years. It can be a very lonely city or a very exciting city.
