Thought Thursday – Awesome Me

Last week, on April 16th, I finished the first-pass hard-copy read-through, note taking, bright red-X slash, dash, and margin scribbles, on My One True Love—twelve days after I wrote The End on the first draft. Instead of feeling exultant and proud of my awesome accomplishment, I felt STRESS.

“Gotta get it done. Gotta get the edits translated to the computer document. Gotta get it ready for Beta Readers and then get it back and fix any other issues and then get it to the editor and then…”

You see where I’m going with this? Exactly to the place I didn’t want to go when I decided to self-publish: Gotta! Should! Now!

STRESS.

Stress is toxic. Paralytic. The antithesis of productivity.

So, I’m taking a big step back, and adding one more very important reminder to my To-Do List:

Celebrate Your Accomplishments, Awesome Me.

Thoughts have power; thoughts are energy. And you can make your world or break it by your own thinking.
