Thursday Book Review – REBEL

REBEL by Beverly Jenkins grabs you from the first page and doesn’t let you go until the last …

I understand why Ms. Jenkins–better known as Ms. Bev–is considered one of the best Romance authors in the industry. She layers in history and family, and friendship and romance, with the grace, richness, delicacy, and devotion, of a master artist.

In the plucky heroine, Val, I found someone I could identify with and cheer for, and in the hunky hero, Drake, I found the epitome of hunky heroes.

I truly appreciated the historical detail in REBEL, and the opportunity to immerse myself in a new culture and location as I went on a familiar journey with a couple finding their way to love despite the violence, racism, and poverty, of post-civil war America.

5-stars.
